Happy Thursday :)

Tomorrow is Friday and my trip to Dallas!

I am very excited!

And I only have to work a half day today! Extra excitedness!

I've been listening to this song lately for two reasons:

1. This song nails how I've been feeling lately (in certain situations) and

2. I really wish I knew how to sing so I could Kelly Clarkson the shit out of this song!

Do you ever feel like that?

I sing. In the car. By myself.

I don't sing in public.

And I am positive it would take copious amounts of alcohol for me to even try.

But sometimes I really wish I could sing.

I don't think my voice is terrible but I also don't think people want me to sing.

Haha!

Stacy and I have talked about doing karaoke before.

It's never happened.

There are two scenarios I imagine would happen if I ever karaoke---

1. I nail it and everybody is like "I didn't know you could sing like that! Sing again! It was amazing!! Oh and I know an agent, here's his card!"

or

2. (and the more likely reaction) Someone takes the microphone away from me mid song and kicks me out of the bar because I made paying customers leave because my voice was so bad.

Every time I even  consider the possibility of karaoke I play out these two scenarios in my head.

And the overwhelming fear I have the second one would in fact happen kills any thought I had about trying!

I am very good at lip-syncing though!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm really starting to get into this blogging world! It's kinda like breaking in new shoes, you really like them but you got to walk around in them and make them your own aka smelly and comfortable! :)

Consider my blog smelly and comfortable! I hit a pinnacle this week.... over 1,000 views!

And now I have to start my day with coffee and blogs! I. AM. ADDICTED.

I decided that I will need a blog makeover pretty soon, so if any of you readers know of a good blog...artist (i don't think this term is correct but some of the blogs I read are beautiful so artist fits) please let me know!

So I'm going to cheese it up for a second and say thank you to all my readers/commenters! I really appreciate it :)) **now if you are reading this and you read but you aren't following....follow me please :)))))

I am loving a lot this Wednesday so let's get it on!

{1} Remember this post? Well I am loving that I am FINALLY getting away this weekend! I'm going to Dallas on Friday to see Maverick and my brother and SIL! Color me excited!

{2} I am loving that I get to leave work at noon tomorrow!!! I have an awards ceremony to go to for work and I have to help set it up. I won't lie I am more excited about leaving work early than I am about the ceremony but hopefully it should be fun! Wanna know who my date is??!?! My lovely mom!

{3} I am loving that I am getting my nails done after work! You have no idea! Hi my name is Ashley and I'm a nail biter. I always have been and since graduating college I've always had my fake nails! Well the bills got the better of my wallet last month so nails had to go. But today they are making their long-awaited return!

{4} I am loving that I bought the tote bag from Land's End. It should be here any day now. Preferably before Friday so I can take it to Dallas. I even got it monogrammed!

{5} I am loving Augustana's new self titled album!

It might be me but some of the songs remind me of Bruce Springsteen.

Countdown Begins!!

Ok peoples today marks the ONE MONTH countdown till I go to Hawaii! Me and the fam are leaving June 10th and will be there for 12 glorious days!!

So.Freaking. Excited.

If I could marry the weekend I would!

Being in the "8-5 work world" for almost three months now I am really starting to appreciate (huge understatement) the weekends! When I was working hourly I would always just have two random days off during the week. I love having a consistent schedule and I love Fridays and Saturdays like no other!

I'm in a weird mood today. I'm sad.

While I want to be honest and open with you readers there are some personal issues I can't talk about.

These personal issues are making me sad. Conversations need to be had and situations need to be resolved and forgiveness needs to take place. But most of all I want to understand why all this is happening.

Enough of that, after all it is the weekend and the weekends should be joyous occassions. I'll leave the sad stories for Mondays.

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo and I spent it with the lovely Stacy! We got dinner and had a few drinks! And took silly pictures at the bar. We are both fans of making the platapus face! Don't hate me readers but I forgot to upload said images so you have to use your imagination! They will be posted though! Eventually!

I went on a date with Maverick...you know the guy from Top Gun?!?

Just Kidding!!!  Maverick from Top Gun is Tom Cruise and well that's reason enough not to date him!

But I did go on a date!
And my date requested some mystery! (he's not ready for the blogging world)
And he requested I refer to him as Maverick!

So begins my date with Maverick :))

I met Maverick, oh, about a month ago when I was in Dallas. Mav (is it weird that I give a nickname a nickname??) is cute (his smile is ridiculous) funny, easy to talk to, and he's tall ;)! Before I left Dallas that weekend Maverick let me know that he was going to be in Houston in the next couple of weeks and wanted to know if I wanted to hang out. Obviously I said yes!

Fast forward to last weekend! (btw we had been texting/talking pretty much the whole time in between)
Maverick was in Houston and it was date time. Holy excitement Batman!
I was nervous to say the least. Awkward situations follow me around like a lost puppy and I didn't want any part of the date to be awkward. I was also nervous because I planned most of the date since Maverick isn't from Houston. NO pressure whatsoever!

I decided on sushi and a bar (classy I know) Sushi was delcious! (BTW it is kinda difficult to eat sushi and look cute at the same time!) The restaurant was great! The 'banter' (am I too young to use this word??) was awesome! Date so far was going well! Did I mention how cute he looked??

On to activity two! The bar! The reason I picked a bar is because it had pool and it was a fun, easy going activity we could do! Needless to say we didn't play pool but the option was there the whole night! I was also nervous about the bar because one of my best guy friends was going to be there and he's a little protective. I had no idea what I was walking Maverick into! He was a good sport and I gave him plenty of notice in case he choose to do something else. It too went flawlessly (except when I knock over a bar stool..oops!) The guy friend gave Maverick a thumbs up in record time! I was RELIEVED!

The date went really really well! I already have a trip planned to Dallas in a couple of weeks! And this time I don't have to plan anything, yay!

That Sunday before he left Maverick and I had another day date! (well that's what I'm going to call it) We had lunch at Yard House! He tried my Mac and Cheese squared and the truffle fries. I think he is officially hooked on truffle oil! We hit up Starbucks and then saw Scream 4 (cray-zeeee ending peoples, overall it was ok though) Then he had to go, insert sad face!

The entire weekend was awesome! I had a great time and I can't wait to see him again! :)))

You should all be jealous of my date with Maverick! Especially because he's wayyy cooler than Tom Cruise! And cuterr!

That was random...

It's Monday. And I don't feel good.
Enough said.

Here are some randoms:

• When I was in middle school and high school  I used to write screen plays. True story. One was about a guardian angel who fell in love with a human. And the other one was about the Loch Ness Monster. I'm Scottish.
• I wore a hoodie and jeans to work today and I am by no means considered undressed.
• When I was little I wanted to have two girls and name them after characters from Baywatch.
• If I could afford to buy copious amounts of truffle oil I would cook with it everyday!
• I am currently listening to Dog Days Are Over-Florence+The Machine on repeat!
• If I had to live in another state I would live in Colorado. It's one of the prettiest places I've been!
• I have nerve damage on my ring finger on my left hand. It happened when I was baretending and I was cleaning a wine glass and it broke and the stem of the glass when through my finger!
• I love scary movies! The SAWs series are a favorite! And the Exorcist! (mainly because me and Kendra watched it together in our dorm room, both of us in my bed, with the lights on, because we "heard" a noise!!)

Now it's time for a nap!
